Yule Log ordering is now open…

We’ve waved goodbye to Halloween (the witches didn’t wave back we’d sold all their fingers) so it’s time for Christmas to gently begin with YULE LOG ORDERING NOW OPEN. They are available for collection from Dec 20.

Last week we promised you exciting news. Yule Logs are back again this year and as we teased there’s a new one in our Festive forest this year…

Our usual two sizes are joined this year by a vegan option – a mossy stump sat in mushroom strewn edible soil. Delicious light layered chocolate sponges are sandwiched with vegan chocolate ganache.

Ordering is simple. Either pop to the Bakery Tues – Sat between 8:30 & 2:00 or email us. We need to know your name. A contact number and which you would like… Small £40 Large £55 & Vegan £50.

You can collect your log on the following days- 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd & 24th December.

Halloween treats…

…and this weeks specials -We’ve got some really horrible Halloween treats lined up this week for you. And when we say horrible we mean REALLY horrible…

We’ll start off nice and sweet with

BAKEWELLS – Cherry and chocolate. that popular alliterative combination that is working so well in our special vegan croissant at the moment.

BROWNIE – a simple delight – Peanut Butter

LOAF CAKE – Orange and Almond – as ever Vegan.

And then the disgusting stuff. There’ll be a special themed Hideous Halloween Cruffin and a Creepy Croissant. To be unveiled when we open on Tuesday but here’s a clue…

Witches fingers have been collected all year. If you can get past the almond fingernail, the bloodied end AND the fact you’re eating a realistic looking (green) finger they are actually a really tasty soft shortbread biscuit.

Our ‘Mummy’ spooky cookies are our popular gingerbread biscuits but with added cocoa for that awful blackened look that Halloween demands. These Halloween treats may look like they’ve been festering in a swamp all year but we can guarantee they are fresh and delicious despite their grotesque appearance.

On a lighter note our lovely shock faced Halloween ghosts are simple peaks of delicious meringue. Spooky times!

And as Halloween ends next weekend and November arrives Christmas Ordering can begin. We’ve got a VERY EXCITING ADDITION to our Yule Log Forest this year… watch this space!

THE SCONE SCHEDULE

WE bake different scones daily so make sure you’re not missing your favourite by checking our handy scone schedule to discover what scone today?

TUESDAY a simple start to the week with a Plain scone. Why not try one of Linda Robinson’s homemade Country Market jams to add your own flavour…

WEDNESDAY Cheese scones today… Herbs and cheese inside, topped with a generous handful of red Leicester. These are delicious with the Knighton Kitchen Chilli Relish that we sell

THURSDAY Fruit scones. Traditional flavour and perennial favourite. Crunchy demerara on top adds a bit of bite

FRIDAY Stilton Scones. The distinctive smell and smooth texture of the cheese make this version a quick seller.

SATURDAY Not one but two varieties at the weekend. The heavenly Cherry and Almond – Glace cherries and ground almonds inside with flaked almonds on top. AND a savoury option too – the fabulous pairing of Parmesan and Olive make these a perfect weekend treat…

We bake daily but only have a limited quantity so once they’re gone they’re scone. Sorry xx

Have you seen Squid Game yet?

Last week’s Cruffin flavour prompted a lot of talk about TV specifically Squid Game and will there be a series two? We don’t like spoilers so we won’t spell it out… if you’ve seen episode three of the series you’ll know why our Honeycomb & Chocolate Ganache gave the green light for a Squid Game discussion.

For those that don’t know a cruffin is CRoissant dough baked in a mUFFIN tin. Ours are dipped in sugar after baking which gives a doughnut like appearance. We bake fresh daily but change the flavour weekly. The Honeycomb is made by us (think the inside of a Crunchie) and they’re filled with a rich chocolate ganache. This week we’ve made a caramelised white chocolate ganache for inside and topped them with salted caramelised almonds…

As well as Squid Game we’ve also been watching and discussing Maid. Oh my – quite a heart tugger… comment below with a hello and let us know what you’ve been enjoying. We’re very ready for a new series to sink our teeth into…

No Tricks – Fancy a Pumpkin Spice TREAT?

Well October is here and with it some exciting news from us… a new special on our shelves – THE PUMPKIN SPICE CROISSANT. We know a lot of you can’t get enough of Pumpkin Spice Lattes so we’ve worked our usual witchcraft to create something truly magical.

Firstly we blended our own spice mix using Cinnamon, Ginger, Clove, Allspice and Nutmeg then used this to flavour our signature handmade pastry. The filling combines creme patisserie with pumpkin puree and Abracadabra! We’ve come up with a tasty Autumnal treat for the start of October.

As an added treat we’re extending our opening hours too. We’ll be open at 8:30am so more of you can grab a croissant and coffee on your way to ACTUAL work. We’re staying open a little longer as well – closing at 2pm rather than 1pm.

Halloween is fast approaching now so we’ll be firing up the cauldron and producing some tasty but ghoulish delights soon too. Pics to follow…

Our Birthday and a Cake Giveaway!

We’ve just had our 6th Birthday and what better way to celebrate than with a cake GIVEAWAY! Over on Instagram and facebook we gave followers the chance to win one of our delicious bespoke cakes simply by describing The Tiny Bakery in a few words.

It was fab to hear what people thought of us and thankfully they were all positive. Alexander won with his comment below, and he chose a chocolate cake as his prize!

Easter at The Tiny Bakery

At last, the Easter holidays are here (well, they are in Leicester!) We’ve had fun developing this years products and taste testing to get the best results. We’re open all week through till 2.30pm on Easter Saturday for you to buy your goodies for the week. (Closed Sunday, Monday, Tuesday after Easter to recover from chocolate overload)

Easter Choc Chip Cookie

What could be better than a choc chip cookie, except a choc chip cookie with mini mini eggs strewn across it.

Easter Brownie

Our classic brownie, you know, the best one you’ve ever tasted, has been pimped with creme eggs, and we’ve added a mini egg blondie to the range of trybakes. It’s sooo good we might keep it going after Easter too!

Easter Rocky Road

Easter rocky road is back too, our house recipe but loaded with creme eggs, mini eggs, golden eggs…’scuse me while i drool a bit.

We’ve tweaked our cheesecakes and choux buns to give them an Easter theme, with more creme eggs and little chocolate nests.

So, lots to choose from, as well as our usual selection of pastries and cakes. We’re hoping there might be a few goodies left over for us on Saturday, but if not, well,we know you love our products and we’ve had plenty of tasters! Happy Easter everyone!
